I moved out to rural Wiltshire from London years ago and spoke to no one but the postman for a year until I thought I would go mad, and probably did. Then I joined the local L.E.T.S. (Local Exchange Trading system) group. I don't know if they have one where you are, it's full of downsizing ex-city folk who've moved to the country and have no one to talk to so very like-minded!
